On Tuesday of this past week, we realized our favorite clown fish needed a new home. I presented the scholars with a mini-design challenge to build a sea anemone out of Keva Planks. We researched, discussed, and brainstormed the main attributes of a sea anemone and how they protect clown fish. Scholars then went back to their desk to build a home for a clown fish that had an entrance and exit small enough to keep predators away but comfortable enough for our favorite fish. The students were thrilled to complete this challenge. I was amazed with their designs and bright thinking. This challenge was simple, but it was a great way to prepare them for our big challenges that we have planned for next week.
